4 Poppin' Makeup Trends by Reggie

What does Oprah Winfrey, Michelle Obama and Beyonce Knowles all have in common? They all have had their face beat (makeup applied) by
Celebrity Makeup Artist, Reggie Wells

Channel Surfing late night, I saw Reggie on a Local TV Show called Windy City Live. Since I'm starting to do more research on the folks behind all these beautiful faces on tv I figured I should tune in. I learned so many awesome makeup tips in 7 minutes, I had to share them with somebody! Reggie's fun, exciting, straight-forward attitude caught my attention and really made me pay close attention to these excellent tips!

4 Makeup Trends by Reggie Wells
discussed with Windy City Live, Host Val Wayner
  1. Use Brighter Eye Shadow Colors  Don't be afraid to apply lighter, brighter colors from your eye shadow palette! Apply shadow to the top of the brow, near your eyelid. Using a Chocolate Brown on the eyelid and Bright Orange on the lower lid. Make sure you blend it in well.
  2. Blend Blush in with Foundation When applying blush, make sure you only apply it to the apple of your cheek. Not beyond the apple. Reggie stressed this! After applying blush, blend it in with foundation. Gently roll the brush across the apple of your cheek. You will not be able to figure out where the beginning ends. Perfect Cheeks!
  3. Color Eye Liner/ Less Dark Lines   Instead of using traditional, dark eye shadows, try using a color eye liner. In the video Reggie's model was young, vibrant and had a beautiful eye shape. Therefore using Dark Black or Blue Liner wasn't necessary. They applied gold liner using brush. Reggie's Rule of Thumb is,"Don't over work it if you already have it". It's that simple!
  4. Pay more attention to your lower lashes  Achieve a 1970's look, like Cleopatra. Try applying two or three lashes on your bottom lash line, with no lashes applied to the top. But you should create a bold line on the top using eyeliner. This technique will accent your eye shape. Lashes are normally applied to the Top Lashes and not the bottom. Step outside the box!
